Oversight Director (OD)

This is the first team member you will be assigned. If you’re in the proposal process, you’ve probably already met this person.

This person typically has several years of experience in your therapeutic indication. During the first stage of your study, they will be responsible for project strategy and ensure that the project teams stay on task in their day-to-day project management. Your OD can also help with any initial start-up questions.

When will kick-off meeting be scheduled?
Who should attend kick-off meetings?
When will I meet the rest of my PPD team?

Project Lead (PL)

You likely met your Project Lead (PL) at the bid-defense meeting. Once the study is awarded, your PL will be your day-to-day contact for the rest of your journey. They are responsible for the operational delivery of the study, managing and keeping it on track, as well as day-to-day engagement.

Once assigned, your PL is your go-to person for most questions such as:

When can full team resources be assigned?
When can my team meet with other PPD team members whom we didn’t meet at the bid-defense?
Who do I contact for my Master Service Agreement (MSA), work order, etc.?
How do we now proceed with getting the study up and running- Kick-off meeting planning, sub-team meeting planning etc.?
Is there a PPD study org chart that would help my team understand who their counterparts are?

Business Development (BD)

You likely know this person pretty well already, but they will stay connected with you while finalizing your contract and the scope of your project, MSA, and budget. They will stay connected with you throughout the study as well to make sure you’re satisfied with our service.

Finance Lead

Once the study is awarded, you will be provided with an Operations Finance (OF) Lead who will be your point of contact throughout the full study conduct. We pride ourselves in providing transparent reporting to help you manage your study forecasting and an understanding of your study budget spend prior to work being completed. You will also get assistance setting up your payment schedule and report on your startup agreement.

Will I receive monthly financial reports and when will they start?
Will you provide training on how to interpret the financial reports?
What if I need customized financial reporting?
Is there a PPD study org chart that would help my team understand who their counterparts are?

Executive Sponsor

Key components to our biotech model are our accountable medical and operational leaders, who often serve as executive sponsors for our clients.

They partner with you to help navigate the wider PPD organization and identify fit-to-purpose development solutions, access resources and remove potential roadblocks, and simplify your development journey.

Leaders in these roles are:

Non-billable
Seasoned medical and operational leaders in drug development and clinical trial management
Extremely knowledgeable of PPD solutions available to you and equipped to help you navigate PPD and easily find the right solutions and resources
Your advocate at PPD to ensure your needs are being met and barriers are overcome

Executive sponsors generally consist of an expert from one of the following roles:

Biotech Portfolio Leads (BPL): Experienced operational leaders who help with resource prioritization, problem-solving, and overall portfolio management. They bring high-level operational expertise.

Regional Medical Officers (RMO): Physicians who bring a high level of drug development expertise to partner with you on development and commercialization of your asset. with, problem-solving, and overall portfolio management. Brings high-level drug development expertise.
